L’Envie d’Aimer par Daniel Lévi

A song simple and strong, which tells all of the truth.

à toi, à nous.

C’est tellement simple
L’amour
Tellement possible
L’amour
A qui l’entend
Regarde autour
A qui le veut
Vraiment
C’est tellement rien
D’y croire
Mais tellement tout
Pourtant
Qu’il vaut la peine
De le vouloir
De le chercher
Tout le temps

Ce sera nous, dès demain
Ce sera nous, le chemin
Pour que l’amour
Qu’on saura se donner
Nous donne l’envie d’aimer

C’est tellement court
Une vie
Tellement fragile
Aussi
Que de courir
Après le temps
Ne laisse plus rien
A vivre

Ce sera nous, dès demain
Ce sera nous, le chemin
Pour que l’amour
Qu’on saura se donner
Nous donne l’envie d’aimer

Ce sera nous, dès ce soir
A nous de le vouloir
Faire que l’amour
Qu’on aura partagé
Nous donne l’envie d’aimer

C’est tellement fort
C’est tellement tout

L’amour

Puisqu’on attend
De vies en vies
Depuis la nuit
Des temps

Ce sera nous,
Ce sera nous,
Ce sera nous,
Pour que l’amour
Qu’on saura se donner
Nous donne l’envie d’aimer

Ce sera nous, dès ce soir
A nous de le vouloir
Faire que l’amour
Qu’on aura partagé
Nous donne l’envie d’aimer…

Jack Goes Boating by Philip Seymour Hoffman

Recommended by my friend Ting, this great film, Hoffman’s directorial debut, is edgy, engaging and off-beaten. One of the greatest films talking about man-female relationship. Every second counts.

Also the soundtrack is to the point, and just beautiful by itself.

Red Light Revolution by Sam Voutas

A hilarious comedy about the “adult heath shop” in Beijing, revolutionary but mild, full of local flavor! Interesting for both Chinese and foreigners, a must-see entertainment film about contemporary China!

Even better, I watched this film at the “Meet the Filmmaker” night organized by Culture Yard. More vivid with the questions and answers with the director and producer.

You can watch it here: http://www.redlightrevolution.com/

Social-networking: Breakfast Event

Got up at 7 am and rode my bike with eyes half closed to Sanlitun for my first “social-networking” event since a looooong time: Breakfast at Milly’s Cakes with Meagan Dietz, Director of Business Development of Godiva in China. Interesting speech, passable food (dull croissant, greasy cakes, diluted fruit juice), generous gift (Godiva box chocolate, Easter Egg of chocolate, brunch/afternoon tea voucher). Only ladies (since it’s organized by 85 Broads!), all well primped up, quite fit into the vibe of Milly’s Cakes (a bit too cutie sweetie for me, definitely not for boys!) I might go back there for the sake of the brunch voucher.

Life Needs Hobbies – Fish and Flower

and hobbies one after another (credits to Mathieu)

I have a friend whose hobby is collecting Zippo lighters; another one arranging flowers and taking care of plants; another one collecting vintage dresses…

My hobby now is fish and flower. I have realised recently that a long vertical vase looks better than a round short vase for keeping golden fish. If you put the vase on a shelf, you can appreciate the fish both horizontally and vertically. Also, putting some stones and aquatic plants would brighten up the whole thing! For the moment, I substitute with lucky bamboo.

Love in the Buff by Ho-Cheung Pang

The deepest you can be influenced by a person (in most cases, if you are lucky, by the one you love or loved), is when you become like him/her (even before you realize it).

The only Chinese LOVE  movies I really like (not including Taiwanese films made by Wong Kar-wai) are the two sets of films made by Ho-Cheung Pang (Love in a Puff + Love in the Buff) and by Feng Xiaogang (If You Are the One 1 + 2).
